What is Qi Wireless Charging?

It is the worldwide standard for charging battery-operated gadgets such as cell phones, iPods, MP3 players, and cameras wirelessly. Wireless charging is a technique that allows devices to be charged wirelessly over (very) short distances.
Wireless charging has the advantage of being faster and easier to use because you don't have to plug and unplug your device each time. Instead, you simply place your device on top of your wireless charging power bank.
How Does Qi Wireless Charging Work?
Electromagnetic induction is used to transport power wirelessly. With inductive charging, the essential power is delivered to the device without the use of a typical cable, but rather through electromagnetic fields. The concept is straightforward: the Qi Sender (Charging Station) sends the necessary energy to the Qi receiver (the mobile phone).
The most widely used wireless systems rely on an electromagnetic field created by two copper coils, limiting the distance between a smartphone and a charging station significantly. This is the form of charging that Apple has included in the iPhone 8 and iPhone X. For example, the copper coils in smartphone wireless charging pads are only a few inches in diameter, drastically restricting the distance over which power may be properly sent.
